Dr. Sunil Shroff
Dr Sunil Shroff is a pioneering Indian urologist, transplant surgeon and digital-health entrepreneur. After training in India he spent 12 years in the UK, rising to Senior Registrar at London’s Institute of Urology & Nephrology, before returning in 1995 to found the Urology & Transplantation Department at Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai. There he started India’s first MCh in Urology and the world’s first BSc in Urology Technology, training 100+ specialists. Shroff, now President of the 1,500-member Indian Society of Organ Transplantation, has authored 800+ papers, five books and delivered 900 talks. He co-founded Medindia.net—today a top-20 global health site with 5 million monthly views—and created the NGO MOHAN Foundation, leading organ-donor awareness across India in partnership with the NHS. MOHAN won BMJ South Asia’s “Best NGO” award, and Shroff appeared as a 2020 “Karmveer” on Sony TV’s Kaun Banega Crorepati.
